Meyers v eastern Oklahoma County technology Center

Meyers field a 1983 action against Center alleging retaliation for First Amendment protected statements and due process violations. The district court granted summary judgment to Center and the panel affirmed. It held that the supervisor who fired Meyers was not aware of one protected statement and fired Meyers because of insubordinate acts not any protected statements to a third party. The panel affirmed on the due process claim because Meyers failed to prove any entitlement to a hearing and the only evidence offered to support her claim was inadmissible hearsay.
