Legrand Johnson Construction Company v Celtic Bank Corporation and Celtic Investment, Inc.

Celtic appealed the award of prejudgment interest and attorney fees in Johnson’s mechanic’s lien case. The Court reversed and remanded. It held that under the Court’s recent Jordan construction precedent, prejudgment interest is not available in mechanic’s lien cases and further held that the attorney fee award ahds to vacated and the issue remanded to determine who is the successful party here, declined to identify the rule of decision about who is the successful party and limited interest on any fees awarded to Johnson to the postjudgment rate.
